Everyone must connect We must see the struggle Be honest – be in the moment – don’t act like you are acting Become the character Step on lines. Why do you enter and why do you exit? Discordant notes – Casanova looks at suitcase,then announces KILROY! Reread the script. Everyone needs to struggle for the audience to care. You should not be visiting backstage. Cheat out to audience throughout show. Fewer whistles and more whispers with wind – especially at the beginning. Look at videos of the pope in Mexico or when he was in NYC – people revered him and just wanted to touch the hem of his gown.  Do this with La Madrecita.
Kilroy	Watch arms throughout play.  Do not make gestures below the waist. Hold up a pic of your one true love at the beginning.
Prologue & Block 1
Everyone	Everyone move a little because the dreamer has to move to play the guitar & Brooke’s hand moves – guard smokes Ashlynn cries Rosita – a little crazy something – maybe counting money and put it in your bra. I have a story to tell you about this. Gypsy, look at your cards. Sydney, scratch, etc.
Villagers	Must be creepy – sleep, crawl toward Quixote, then back. Loteria and tacos must be said with fritos. Forgot to whisper sleep.
Survivor	Have purpose to returning to the well after you are shot.
Guard - Riley	The second time – you say what do you want, say it differently from the first time.
Elijah	Go back through the play and see where dreams, sleep, heart – words are said and play then.
Gutman	Louder throughout.  Many times you have to be heard over incidental noise.
Quixote	Body and voice need to be older Work on faded ribbon line.
Prudence	Stumble, be confused, unsettled A dream is nothing to live in – work on stressing this. You don’t hear the first announcement so don’t look at Gutman when he says it.
Casanova	Sleep and wake remember your eyes. We need to see you repulsed by Prudence.
Block 2
Everyone	React to dry fountain. Don’t anticipate the shooting Everyone is hungry for hermano – a connection – sometimes no matter how hard life is – if you have someone to talk to, it is not as hard. Kilroy’s entrance – discordant noise, Casanova sees suitcase, announces Kilroy and Kilroy is wearing his gloves.
Madrecita, dreamer, survivor, villagers	Must see you connect.
Rosita	See your hands on everyone in different ways.  Maybe be mystified by shoes.
Marguerite	Read February 14 critiques.
Casanova	Stress brother
Kilroy	Look at survivor and jump when she falls in the wheelbarrow. Run back to Casanova after guard has exited.
Gutman	Excellent job with boxing gloves when you have a line.
Survivor	Voice needs to show being tired and
Lady Mulligan	Your body needs to match your voice and attitude. Why do you exit? Need to wear a hat Vocals need to be older.
Block 3	Kilroy and guard =good
Everyone	Fight dance – get there sooner.
Gypsy	Watch sing song pattern
Dreamer	Excellent job with music on recuerdos.
Guards	Watch swinging arms – weakens characters
Kilroy	What did I get myself into? Bigger
Casanova & Kilroy	Change positions – C upstage and K more downstage
Block 4
Kilroy	This place is confusing.  Nothing seems real – concerned curious something is real strange. Examine shoes. Watch being too presentational – my fault – lines to audience. What do they do with the stiff – terrified You treasure your gloves – maybe more than your woman.  Resist when Gutman takes them. When you are sitting on the well, blinking your nose, look at the pic of your own true woman.
Street cleaners	When taking off the Baron’s shoes, creep over and touch Kilroy’s.
Block 5
Everyone	Work on suitcase throw – two people mentioned this. Don’t throw it on Gutman’s platform.
Cassanova	Emphasize vital organs unique in size to explain forshadowing.
Madrecita deamer	Look at the dry well.
Everyone	Check the well – sad that there is no water.
Block 6
Sound effects guards	Shots need to be sooner and coordinated with movement.(block 2?)
Gutman	More natural phone hangup with Generalisimo. Louder on phone.
Gypsy	Quieter when Gutman is on phone.
Esmeralda, Gypsy, Nursie, Abdullah	We need to hear you before we see you.
Gutman and Casanova	When Casanova gets the letter, make sure Gutman is not blocked.
Dreamer	Remember you were great in this block and see how you can apply this to all blocks.
Abdullah	When you are laughing about port of entry – keep laughing off stage each time you exit.  Need for you to exit stage left sometimes.
Villagers	Kilroy says let me go so he can escape to the terra incognita and the villagers want him to stay and be the hero.
Sydney	Stiff – couldn’t hear you
Kilroy and Esmeralda	In your scene together, Kilroy watch blocking the violet light on Esmeralda’s face.
Dreamer	Better about being more involved.
Everyone	Freeze doesn’t work with Kilroy and Esmeralda.  Everyone in motion. ONLY Kilroy and Esmeralda stop and look at each other.
Block 7
Marguerite and Casanova	Work on the relationship.  The “new” stuff you tried today needs to carry over into each scene you are in. Walk on line – boy didn’t take it.
Everyone	Someone pick up flower that Marguerite drops.
Mulligans	Work on the relationship
Marguerite	Put purse down – get compact out – they called me Camille – keep talking – go to put compact out.  Look at floor first. Then all around.
Gutman	Curdles my blood – work on this.  Sounds memorized.
Block 8	OK
Block 9
Everyone	More desperate Struggle Push pull fight to get over ladder then exhilarated once you are past demonic inspectors. Fugitive scene – you don’t care if your skirts are up.
Casanova	Don’t fix crown when Gutman puts it on you.
Prudence	Girdle line needs to be louder and use diction.
Gutman	Don’t listen to Fugitivo – ask Reagan M. She and I discussed it and I can’t remember it.
Pilot	Louder
Block 10
Marguerite & Cassanova	Work on the relationship.  The “new” stuff you tried today needs to carry over into each scene you are in. Stay in light.
Kilroy	Don’t let feet hang off stage.
Gutman	Be sure your feet are never hanging off edge of platform
Block 11	Fiesta – dancing in, out, in, out – Evan and Brooke fix this.
Block 12
	Fountain dry – react
Gypsy	Freida didn’t like the way you sat
Kilroy	React –Your number is up Be scared and more vulnerable when Gypsy is giving you your fortune. Keep the self centered winner cocky attitude throughout the whole play.
Esmeralda	Work on the first Delivery of is that all was good.
Kilroy	Sleep under stars sounded memorized. Work on getting up like Lord Mulligan and Survivor – ask them to model this for you.
Block 14	Marguerite and Cabana boy – enter talking and laughing.  We need to sense something is wrong.
Casanova	Move suitcase bench for Kilroy.
Kilroy	Die with head toward right stage.
Street Cleaners	Come in creepier toward Kilroy End of scene didn’t work.
Block 15
Madrecita	Sounded memorized.
Block 16	Fade out sound?
Kilroy	Just not jest
Women	Moving ladder needs to be graceful.
Dreamer	Kilroy says dream three times and I want you to play.
Quixote	Enter left stage of the clock to begin last scene.
Need	Shoes for everyone Blanket for Ashlyn- trique Spray paint Ashlyn’s white skirt. Find my red wire basket!!!! I want all villagers to have cage like baskets, etc.
