February 14 Critiques - Comment #1 for 2nd 6 Weeks

No rehearsal Monday night because of playoff game

Everybody	Step on lines Wind at the end of the play.  See bottom of this sheet. Desperation is evident at the beginning with the survivor, but the village is not as desperate after that. React when La Madrecita comes in.  Revere – almost worship her.   She is the patron saint of Mexico which makes sense that Williams put her in the play. Be louder when Baron dies. Loan shark – Amy hold sign up.  Brooke try to sell A Ratt something. No one reacts to la madrecita. Don’t let light flicker Someone move bench for Jonah when he is too weak During all chase scenes – whistles Teresa and Kyle loved the music – Brooke, Elijah, Kadyn and Ashlynn. At the beginning, more whispering and less whistling. Have clown suit ready to go. Gutman, hand him the nose before the suit so he can put it on earlier. Do not unfreeze until after mac hits the last beat on the cane.
Streetcleaners	When Jonah says don’t look at me, touch his shoes, look at him and walk off. Giggle like demented crazy people.  Move your hands in weird ways.  Move bodies in weird ways . Watch blocking Kadyn when picking her up.  Both of you be on upstage side of her.
Villagers	Hold onto Kilroy because he says let me go.
Cassanova	React after discontinued.
Guards	Need to be tougher.  Ask Tucker to show you how to shoot.
Gutman	Be louder during the entire show. Loved the stuff with the glasses when Kilroy gets his heart.
Rosita	Point with upstage hand to Siete Mares.
Quixote	Start your first line earlier. Ola?????
Kilroy	When Madrecita asks recuerdos which means memories – how should you react to a blind woman?  She can’t see y ou shaking your head. Don’t say Me too like a question before a real hard kiss. Look sad when Gutman takes your gloves off. Wear your gloves when you come in. Speed up lines and vary speed – overall much better. Bird twice at the beginning then after wild birds in cages. What have I got – step on line before. Run back to Cassanova when guard exits. Heartbreak – hear vocals like you are dying. Fall with your head going right stage.
Lady Mulligan	Line to audience when you are with Lord Mulligan.
Esmeralda	Have veil messed up.  When mom comes in. I have to buy Velcro so I won’t have dress fixed tomorrow.
Prudence	More noise or breathing.  React louder to Ashlynn.  Older Look at you tube 101 dalmations Cruella de vils outburst scene. Stay frozen after first dance. Don’t cut mac’s lines off.
Gypsy	Clean your gun for stage business. Whoop after your gunshot.
Marguerite	Stiff in number 7 too early Almost out of DATE as….. Take out compact when you say it’s always a pink one… put purse down so that you can hold flower and compact.  Talk to the compact. Don’t forget to get jewelry tomorrow.
Cabana boy & Margarite	Entrance was late and you need to make noise coming in.
Time	Faced with three problems -9 min 30 sec. Jacque how are we going to leave 19 min I promised mother I wouldn’t -28:30
Elijah	A strum or something with these words – dream heart sleep Be frozen during the french lady Do not be in front of Kilroy at the end. Just like a dream – 3 times so play then. One true woman – freeze.
Gunshots	Need to be louder Fade out plane noise & it was too loud.
Sam	Laugh in the beginning - louder

February 8 Critiques

Griffis

-a little faster tucker, I think you are setting the pace for our show

-you can be effective without going soooo slow

-Mac you are going too slow as well

-Sam you are doing great work!!

-Jonah I'm seeing less Jonah and more Kilroy... Good job!

-Kylie you are amazing. Don't anticipate kilroy's answer.

-Mac make sure Casanova has as much swag at the end as he does the first time you talk to Kilroy

-Evan you are moving too quick as lord mulligan, first appearance

-Kylie don't anticipate Sydney taking white flowers

-Sydney you have to realize purse is gone, don't just say line

-Jonah blink light randomly. make sure we know you are doing it and it's not just blinking.

-jonah's golden gloves need to be in bag if not on him. They would never be left in siege mares

-sing leaving on a jet plane in English

- add in throwing good before festival instead of Mac just hitting cane

-keep having a fiesta and dancing as Mac and Jonah say goodbye

-kadyn, you have to say "is that all?" FUNNY

-Sydney and Evan should be on stage as soon as Sam says block 14

-Ashlynn move to side as soon as sirens end

-Jonah good job in block 16

-

Maky – vamoose louder.  Blow on gun when re-entering your house.

Someone needs to pull out bench for Jonah? ??\

Do not freeze during Jonah and Tucker’s last scene.

Amy & Payton – move and talk older

More people noises after fritos

Riley – work on Spanish – see Mia

Streetcleaners – costumes?  Give me the mask that is not painted.

Tucker – scream louder when dying  Have to have a lot more noise

Wind after narrow steep way

Kadyn – sing after that is all

Piping after I’m sick

Kadyn sings after Ja- ask Reagan M

Whispering after – smile tonight on the last cavaliers

Need to pronounce violets sweeter because sounds like violence

More of a change in Esmeralda – be bigger and flirtier

Fight dance needs work to make it smoother

The guard missed entrance – needs to already be out listening suspiciously to Cass & K.

Marg – your  vocabulary….. DICTION say out of date instead of place.

K & Cass do the brother thing during the dance.

Marg and young man need people noises before entering.

Freeze when Jonah and Kadyn run into each other.

Fugitive patsy scene – couldn’t tell anyone was frozen

Brooke – bend knees and be weird – not like a flute player – but it sounds great

Sleep – Cassanova – make all references to dreams and sleep bigger and dreamier.

That applies to everyone.

Cass – more movement in arms at the beginning

There must be highs in each block before the Muerto scene.

Kilroy – too profile, needs more strength in legs.

Kilroy & E – hand on leg, traveling, she moves to stop him, then changes her mind.
